FAQ

Ordering / Shipping
I want to get a single paper from this conference, but I don’t want the whole book. Can I get it through proceedings.com?
In some cases, we have individual papers available for download. In other cases, we are authorized to extract the paper and deliver it by email. Navigate to the publisher's page on our site using the "Browse by Publisher" Menu. Using the filters, select "PDF Paper Download" or "PDF Paper via Email" (if available). If you still can't find what you are looking for, send an email to info@proceedings.com and we may be able to help.
I’m looking for IEEE proceedings from before 2006. Why aren’t they on your site?
Before IEEE partnered with us for print on demand conference proceedings, IEEE titles would go out-of-print (OP) after three years. All proceedings from 2006 forward will remain available through proceedings.com (Curran Associates, Inc.), but the older books are no longer available.
I can find the proceedings of last year’s conference, but not this year’s. What do I do?
We are adding new conferences to our catalog all the time, but sometimes it takes a little while to get the papers from the conference organizer. If the proceedings you’re looking for aren’t on our website yet, send an email to info@proceedings.com, and we’ll let you know when they become available.

How long will it take to get my books?

My order arrived damaged, what should I do?

Send the photographs to info@proceedings.com along with a brief description of the damage. Please be sure to include your order number in the email to assist us with locating your order.
DOI & Content Hosting
What is DOI?
DOI stands for Digital Object Identifier, which is an identifier that provides a persistent link for each paper from your proceedings.
How does DOI help my authors and our publishing organization?
Having a registered DOI number helps in the following ways: 1) Allows each paper to be discovered through linking technologies; 2) Allows content to be more broadly accessed by the research community; 3) Ensures correct citations and proper credit for your authors; 4) provides increased exposure and profile for your authors, editors and your publishing organization.
How can proceedings.com help with DOI?
Curran Associates is a member of a DOI Registration Agency. Our service offers the following: 1) We advise you on the correct metadata to collect; 2) We formulate a unique DOI for each paper; 3) We register all relevant metadata with the international DOI Foundation; 4) We create and host a landing page for each DOI (paper) with appropriate bibliographic data and instructions for how to access the full text.
Print-on-Demand / Create-on-Demand
Why should we choose proceedings.com to create on-demand publications?
We offer our proceedings free, as open access on the web. Why should there be a print version that costs money?
For some, there is nothing better than open access. But in this very large world, there are still libraries and researchers who have a need for print, and do not have the means to print and bind them. Since most professional societies consider the dissemination of their research as a strategic priority, why deny a segment of the research community, even if it’s a shrinking segment?
Do we lose our rights when we allow proceedings.com to print or create other formats of our proceedings?
No. Under an agreement with proceedings.com (Curran Associates, Inc.), you retain all your rights, and grant permission to make a print or CD/DVD/USB versions for the few customers out there who still need these formats.
If we need to hand out our proceedings at the conference, can proceedings.com help?
Yes. For a low cost, we offer to create e-proceedings and host them on your content page within proceedings.com, which provides added exposure and free distribution to attendees, members, or anyone you want. We can also create physical products (Print, CD/DVD/USB) for pre-conference sales with steep discounts plus cost of shipping. For details of how this would work in your case, send an email to pod@proceedings.com.
We want to go green, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. Why should we let proceedings.com make print?
First, we offer many electronic formats as well as print. When we do print, it's on-demand so we can print a quanitity of one or precisely the quantity needed so there is no waste vs.some printers requiring minimum print runs of five, ten, or twenty.
Can we provide a link on our website to our proceedings on the proceedings.com online store?
Yes, we can provide a link to your society’s titles on proceedings.com.
Can we send our members/customers to you for fulfillment?
Yes. Send them to proceedings.com, or have them send an email inquiry to info@proceedings.com.
If we send our members to proceedings.com, can they receive member discounts?
Yes. A number of societies offer reduced rates for proceedings as a member benefit, and we are happy to help. Provide us your member and non-member pricing, and we will create a drop-down pricing box for each proceedings title. To make arrangements for special member pricing, just let us know when discussing the production agreement with us.
